Certification Overview
The Overhead Crane Operator Training Class for the CCO Overhead Crane Operator Certification is one and one half days of training with the written exam administered PM of second day. This certification requires candidates to take one written exam and one practical exam on an overhead crane. The training class covers topics such as: Pre-operational activities; Work requirements; Load handling; Shutdown and securing; and Technical knowledge. Within these topics, the training will cover types of cranes, how to handle emergency situations, warning devices, wire rope specification and inspection, crane inspection, how to determine load weight, crane signals, how to avoid shock loading, how to verify floor capacity, and review of the OSHA and ASME Standards and application of the standards.
